POPLAR to CANNING TOWN and on to SILVERTOWN

SILVERTOWN and NORTH WOOLWICH. This is the first main route covering the inland DOCKS and following stretches of the Thames riverside  (or close to the riverside) up to the WOOLWICH FREE FERRY North Terminal. The Thames can be crossed here (or by means of the PEDESTRIAN TUNNEL) in order to visit the South and/or make your return to Central London South of the river, following different routes, for different destinations.  See SE LONDON websites.

ROYAL GROUP OF DOCKS: The route along the ROYAL VICTORIA and the ROYAL ALBERT DOCKS and then due South towards NORTH WOOLWICH, up to the FERRY TERMINAL)  (with the end of the  Eastern end of the GEORGE V DOCK to your right) makes a plausible alternative to previous.

From the Royal Docks to Barking

From the Royal Docks to Green Street (WEST HAM, EAST HAM) you will be passing along suburbial streets, some of them composed of Victorian housing, ending in a predominantly Asian populated area.

From the Royal Docks to PLAISTOW, WEST HAM PARK and STRATFORD.
